It is late July and the peaches are ready for the freezer, which means it is about time for me to be back in the office instead of home watching the garden grow!

I know that you will be happy to meet our new professor in the Education Department, Dr. Eric Grossman. Dr. Grossman is already on campus. He will be teaching EDUC 401 Practicum and will be co-instructor with Dr. Stainback in Secondary Student Teaching, Seminar, and Curriculum and Instruction.

Remember that if you are a Junior this year you need to register for your Junior Interview. You can find information and download registration forms from the Neff Center webpage. Watch for the Junior Interview information on your college e-mail, or just check out the website and be ahead of the game! Junior Interviews this semester will be September 19-22, with a registration deadline of Wednesday, September 14.

A special welcome to new students in the department, new SVEA officers, and Student Teachers for this semester.

We are planning the Education Forum this year for Tuesday, April 11th, and you will be hearing more about that as we begin Spring semester. SVEA has been very helpful in the past with the Forum, and last year was really great with SVEA members taking care of the mailings and the on-site management of the event.

I look forward to working with you during 2005-2006!
